  • New platform allows organization to view its Year budget from different perspectives
  • Activities are budgeted in a more consistent manner Indicators are monitored consistently
  • Monthly reporting is being recorded by the implementing person and linked to the plan

3. Data Processing for M&E

Before

  • Production of reports inefficient and with higher likelihood of errors
  • Less time dedicated to analysis of information

After
  • Organization will have an automated process to integrate all files and produce reports
  • Efficiency (5 days to less than a 1 day)
  • Lower likelihood of mistakes
  • More time dedicated to analysis of information

4. Use of Smartphones for Data Collection

Before
  • Data collected using paper forms
  • Data collection, analysis and information production would take on average one month
  • Activists keep forms for a month (before delivering to the organization’s office)
  • Use of rudimentary excel spreadsheet
  • Lack of quick access to updated information.
  • The probability of mistakes was high due to the 2 data entry moments (filling paper forms; data entering into an excel spreadsheet)

After
  • Data can now be collected through smart phones or tablets
  • Once data is entered, it is uploaded (as soon as internet is available) to a secure server and can be visualized in real time on a computer anywhere in the world
  • Efficiency: activists do not need to keep paper forms with them for one month: system saves staff’s time for other activities
  • Improved security of data
  • Improved accuracy of information
